The painting was created for finial of the altar under the invocation of St. Onuphrius in the third quarter of the 18th century. Saint Sebastian was a Roman martyr and suffered death tied to a tree and pierced by arrows. In iconography, he is portrayed as a young man with an ideal body, girded with a fabric in the hip area only, tied to a pole or a tree, pierced by arrows.
