The crucifix was created for the side altar in the third quarter of the 18th century. The grotto was set up only before 1902, where the sculpture of the saint praying before the crucifix and the sculpture of the Virgin Mary and Bernadette Soubirous were interchangeably placed. The sculpture of Christ is represented in the type of Cristo morte, i.e. Christ is shown as a dead man, after he died on the cross.
