Abstract

The northern side altar was built before 1748, because it was already mentioned in the visitation records of that year. Its creation is attributed to Kornecki's workshop, as well as other elements of architectural and sculptural furnishings in the church. The altar represents the aedicula type, i.e. a single-storey structure with an altar finial, placed on a pair of supports supporting the entablature – the most common type of reredos in the 18th century in Central Europe. The iconography of the whole altar is centered around the statue of the Virgin Mary.
