The altar in the form of drapery curtains was most likely built in the third quarter of the 18th century. It was probably made by the workshop of Antoni Gegenbaur and Johann Georg Feeg. The form of St. Charles Borromeo's altar with a dossal at the chapel of the church in Niepołomice derives from the fabric canopy adorning the throne. It constituted a notable setting for wonderful images, particularly emphasising their royal or dignified character.
