The statues of four evangelists were created before 1748, together with the high altar. Their production is attributed to the workshop of Kornecki – the likely creator of all furnishings of the church in Gdów. St. Mark was a disciple of St. Peter and St. Paul and accompanied them in missionary journeys. He was the author of the Gospel, which he wrote according to the St. Peter's teachings. In iconography, he is most often portrayed in the company of four other evangelists, with a book and a lion.
