Abstract

A statue of St. John of Nepomuk was most probably made during the creation of the high altar, before 1747. It is probably the work of sculptor Antoni Gegenbaur. Much later it was joined together with reliquary boxes. Saint John of Nepomuk was a canon of the Collegiate Church of St. Giles in Prague, which is why he is portrayed in attire corresponding to this position. Most often he is depicted as a man adoring crucifix held in his hand.
