Abstract
The painting of the Apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes was made directly for the finial of the altar of Our Lady of the Rosary, during its creation in 1929. The painting is modelled on images of the Apparition of Our Lady to Bernadette Soubirous, popular in the 20th century. It presents an incident that took place in the Grotto of Lourdes, in 1858.
