The statue of St. Catherine of Siena (together with the sculpture of St. Dominic) was built together with the side altar of Our Lady of the Rosary, before 1748. Their production is attributed to the workshop of Kornecki – the likely creator of all furnishings of the church in Gdów. Our Lady of the Rosary is very often accompanied by such statues as St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena. Her attribute was a rosary and a crown of thorns, because she received stigmata. The woman saint played a unique role in the history of the Church, thus she was proclaimed one of its Doctors.
