The tombstone of father Wincenty Smoczyński (1842-1903) located within the walls surrounding the church was made in 1903 with the funds of canon Ignacy Mech. Smoczyński was an enlightened preacher and an important figure in Tenczynek's history. During his more than twenty years of service, he became famous for his extraordinary care for the morality and temperance of the inhabitants, and brought to the village the order of the Sisters of Mercy, who since then took care of and educated parishioners.
