Abstract

The statue of Saint Stanislaus comes from the previous main altar, which had probably been created before the brick church in Biskupice was consecrated, that is before 1662. Stanislaus of Szczepanów was a Bishop of Kraków, therefore he is shown in appropriate attire corresponding to his position. Iconography showing him with Piotrowin illustrates a legend of the acquisition of the village Piotrawin by Stanislaus.
