Abstract

The statue of St. Adalbert comes from the previous main altar, which had probably been created before the brick church in Biskupice was built, that is before 1662. St. Adalbert was portrayed in the episcopal garb, as in 983 he assumed power over the Diocese of Prague. Adalbert went to Prussia on a mission to convert pagans, where he died a martyr's death.
