The painting showing Adoration of the Shepherds was created probably in the second half of the 17th century. The portrayal of Adoration of the Shepherds was described exclusively in the Gospel of St. Luke (Luke 2, 8-20). The painting from Biskupice shows adoring angels since it was them that brought shepherds to Bethlehem, and behind them the bowing shepherds are depicted. The work refers to Adoration of the Shepherds presented on the altar predella in the Cistercian Church in Pelplin, painted by Herman Han in 1618.
