The painting of St. John of Nepomuk was created by a painter from Kraków named Wojciech Eljasz in 1866. Saint John of Nepomuk was a canon of the Collegiate Church of St. Giles in Prague, which is why he is portrayed in attire corresponding to this position. The portrayal of John of Nepomuk before Madonna and the Child seems atypical since the scene is not to be found in the history of his life.
