Abstract

The painting of the Madonna and the Child, as well as the altar where it is placed, was funded by father Franciszek Gołba. The reredos was created in the Neo-Baroque style, according to the design of Erwin Czerwenka, most likely after 1925 and before 1930. The image of Virgin Mary created by Wojciech Eljasz - the Cracovian painter, specializing in religious painting was purchased by father Gołba in Cracow. The work could have been created in the second half of the 19th or early 20th century (before 1904, when Eljasz died).
