The parish priest Józef Michales (1871-1882) commissioned the creation of the painting of Our Lady of the Rosary for the side altar. The work was painted by the painter Wojciech Eljasz in 1873. Presenting Madonna and the Child with St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena was to show the most important male and female representatives of the Dominican Order in one image. It was also aimed at presenting the founder of the Dominican Order and the most worshiped female saint as well as combine St. Catherine with the cult of the Rosary which is strongly promoted by Dominicans.
