St. Joachim statue was created as one of four sculptures intended for the high altar, which was made for the new church around 1780 by the Kornecki brothers - Antoni and Ignacy. In iconography, Saint Joachim was portrayed as a mature or old man, because, according to tradition, he managed to become a father of Mary when he was in old age. He is usually depicted in the company of his wife – St. Anne.
