St. Paul statue was created as one of four sculptures intended for the high altar, which was made for the new church around 1780 by the Kornecki brothers - Antoni and Ignacy. Saint Paul was originally called Saul and had been a zealous persecutor of Christians until his conversion. He suffered a martyr's death by decapitation with a sword, which is why it is his attribute.
