The altar of St. Francis was funded by Franciszek Leśniowicz, an official of the Pilecki region. It was created before the year 1702, at the workshop of Jerzy Hankis. It was consecrated in 1703 by Kazimierz Łubieński. The architecture of the reredos in question is identical to the high altar in St. Thomas' church in Cracow (circa 1700) attributed to the artist. Hankis created altar structures typical of the second half of the 17th century, with two storeys and elaborate architecture and with multiple supports, especially in the part of the first storey, adorned with profuse ornament decoration.
