Abstract
The epitaph plaque of Marcin Łapka was created around 1652 by his wife - Marianna Lipska from Lipie. Marcin Łapka (of Łapanów) of Drużyna coat of arms (1599-1652) was a hussar's companion. He belonged to a family which members had been the owners of the village of Łapanów for years and had the right of patronage over the local church. Epitaph plaques with carved statues in front of the cross, like the Łapanów work in question, were very popular, mainly in the first half of the 17th century.
