Epitaph plaque of Alfred Obaliński
Abstract
The epitaph plaque of Alfred Obaliński (1843-1898), a distinguished doctor of surgery at the Jagiellonian University, was made by Cracovian sculptor, a professor at the Alfred Daun Academy of Fine Arts. The work is maintained in a traditional, neo-Renaissance stylistic convention, referring both in its structure and material (Pińczów limestone) to works from the 16th century.
