The work was made in an unidentified sculpture workshop, undoubtedly in the region of Lesser Poland. Rope-hung perizoma arrangement that reveals the thigh of Christ refers to the crucifixes created in the seventeenth century. The figure is depicted in the type of Cristo morte, i.e. the deceased Christ, illustrating the moment when the Saviour died on the cross.
