Abstract

The painting Virgin and Child with Saint Anne was probably created around 1614, as it was this year that a brotherhood of this saint was established, and it was intended for the altar in the chapel. The later baroque reredos with the painting was moved from the chapel to the main nave at the turn of the 20th century. The image Virgin and Child with Saint Anne depicts three figures – St. Anne, Mary and little Jesus. "The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne" painting from Łapanów is extremely similar to a work with the same theme, located in the St. Mark's Church in Cracow.
