The painting is an example of modern religious painting. It was made in 20th century (surely before 1970), and unfortunately the author is unknown. The reredos, in which the painting is currently located, was probably made in late 18th century and comes from the parish church in Wadowice. It was brought to Łazany in 1899. Originally, the main area of the altar included the painting depicting St. John of Kety, which does not exist today. The work in question depicts Saint Teresa from Lisieux, also called Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus In iconography she is depicted based on authentic photographs. She often has a crucifix or a bunch of roses in her hand. She is a patroness of the following orders: Discalced Carmelites, Calced Carmelites, France and also of people suffering from headaches and heart diseases.
