The small altar was built for the newly built church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Krzeszów in the first quarter of 20th century in the workshop of Tyrolean sculptor Ferdinand Stuflesser. Although the source documents do not include any information about the purchase of this altar, the ornamental themes, door panels painted with a stylised vine and other architectonic details indicated that the work in question was created in the workshop of Tyrolean artist, and the painting of Saint John Paul II was placed there later.
