A pulpit canopy is much earlier and smaller than a pulpit basket. Its form and decoration point to a late-renaissance origin, which is confirmed by the date "1601" on its frieze. After the destruction caused by the war, the pulpit basket was rebuilt and complemented by new decorations, which blurred its proper stylish features. The late-renaissance pulpit canopy is quite unique on the scale of Lesser Poland, because such works have been almost nonpreserved in this area.
