Abstract
The angels in the altar finial of the high altar in Racławice are a perfect example of 18th -century baroque sculpture of theatrical gestures. The author of these sculptures is unfortunately unknown. The altar along with sculptures were made upon request of priest Jakub Kossecki (Racławice parson from 1750-1764) as a vote of grace for the Virgin Mary for recovery from serious disease that Kostecki suffered from in 1752.
