The painting was purchased by father Józef Raźny, a priest in Grab, at his own expense in 1921, and placed in the side altar of Our Lady of the Rosary, reconstructed in 1929. The painting refers to the traditional iconography of Our Lady of the Rosary with Dominican saints – St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena, developed in the 17th century and extremely popular in Polish art.
