The altar was created in the second half of the 19th century and initially belonged to the Brotherhood of the Crown of Thorns. A crucifix from the second half of the 17th century was placed in the main area of the altar. In 1966, J. Woliński of Cracow created an antependium according to Wiktor Zin's design. The structure of the altar is based on models which had been developed in modern art.
