Abstract

The high altar in Stryszów was built after the new church had been constructed in 1742, but before 1745. Its architecture does not correspond to the territory of Lesser Poland. The multitude of architectural elements is accompanied by rich sculptural decoration, cumulated mainly in the altar finial, with relatively modest use of ornaments, giving in whole the effect of enrichment and composition of forms to the altar.
