Abstract

The painting in the parish church in Igołomia that is located in the altar from the foundation of fatrher Andrzej Dominik Lipiewicz (from 1766) was created by Szymon Czechowicz - one of the greatest Polish painters of the Baroque era. It depicts a distinguished professor at the Jagiellonian University - John Cantius - canonized in 1767, kneeling by the altar with the painting "Misericordia Domini".
