Abstract

Furnishings of the church, thus 3 altars and sculptures, including the sculpture of Moses in question, were created in 1766 on the initiative of the then parish priest Andrzej Dominik Lipiewicz. Moses was a prophet of the Old Testament. In iconography, his attribute are the Tablets of the Law, which he received from God at Mount Sinai. He is often presented with horns (symbol of wisdom), which are showed as two beams coming out of his head or as protruding streak of hair resembling horns - as applied with regard to the sculpture being discussed.
