Abstract

The painting housed in the altar – made in 1793 from the foundation of Teresa (née Sułkowska) Wielopolska – depicts St. Monica during the prayer for the repentance of her son – St. Augustine. The woman saint is portrayed in a black Augustinian habit, which is a reference to the communities founded by her son.
