The painting of St. John the Evangelist was made by Sebastian Stolarski in Myślenice in 1869. In iconography, St. John is depicted as a young man without a beard, because, according to tradition, he was considered to be the youngest and thus the most beloved disciple of Christ. He is shown with a book (parchment) and a pen, and his attribute is an eagle.
