The altar for the chapel with statues of St. Joachim and St. Anne was probably made by Ignacy and Antoni Kornecki in the fourth quarter of the 18th century. Saint Joachim was portrayed as a mature or old man, because, according to tradition, he managed to become a father of Mary when he was in old age. His attribute is often a shepherd's staff, whereas the statue in question is depicted with a spear, which was re-placed in the saint's hand and is not evidenced by his iconography.
