Abstract

The altar together with the figures was most probably made in the 1770s by the Kornecki workshop to the Cistercian church in Mogiła. In 1948 it was moved to the church of the Missionaries of La Salette dedicated to St. Norbert at Wiślna Street in Cracow, and in 2006 to a new church in Tokarnia. Elisabeth was a relative of Mary, the wife of priest Zachariah and the mother of St. John the Baptist. She became a mother in old age, which is why she is depicted in iconography as a mature woman, often accompanied by her husband Zachariah.
