Abstract

The figure of the Guardian Angel with a child was created in the 19th century. Faith in the Guardian Angel, based on biblical texts, concerns the existence of angels who are the individual guardians of every human being throughout their life. The iconography of the Guardian Angel often depicts it in a scene where it protects a child or children walking along the edge of a precipice so that they do not fall down.
