Abstract

The altar together with the figures was most probably made in the 1770s by the Kornecki workshop to the Cistercian church in Mogiła. In 1948 it was moved to the church of the Missionaries of La Salette dedicated to St. Norbert at Wiślna Street in Cracow, and in 2006 to a new church in Tokarnia. In the iconography, St. Anne was portrayed as a mature woman, because according to tradition, thanks to her prayer she managed to have a child – Mary – when she was in old age. Probably the book she holds in her hand refers to the scene of Teaching Mary.
