The altar belongs to the previous furnishings of the temple from before its reconstruction in the 18th century. It was created at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. The architectural structure is based on the form of aedicula, very popular in wood carving in Lesser Poland at the end of the 16th century and in the first half of the 17th century, especially for small-scale reredoses, such as side altars.
