The Stations of the Cross are a set of depictions commemorating Christ's passage down the streets of Jerusalem, from Pilat's praetorium through Calvary, until his laying in the grave. Stations of the Cross was a regular church liturgy, practiced from the times of the Crusades to reflect 14 stations in Jerusalem. The paintings were created in the oil painting technique in the first half of the 19th century. Unfortunately, their authors remains unknown.
