The paintings were made in the 19th century by the use of chromolithography technique in the Louis Turgis Le Jeune's workshop in Paris. Turgis was the author of numerous chromolithograph prints, devoted to both secular and religious themes, who began his activity after 1856. Chromolithograph prints are a typical example of mass-produced works of religious art of the second half of the 19th century, devoid of individual features, but impeccably created from the point of view of formal correctness (drawing, composition, colour).
