The painting was probably created in the first half of the 18th century. Unfortunately, archival sources do not reveal the author of the work. The closest borrowing of the composition seems to originate from the painting (1611-1614, currently located at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna) of the Flemish painter Peter Paul Rubens, including a pair of angels holding a wreath and a palm, which constitutes a mirror image and is depicted on the other side of the painting of Biórków.
