The authorship of the 20th-century statue of Saint Valentine, which is one of four sculptures of the same origin in the church, is unknown. Living in ancient Rome, the holy bishop was endowed with the skill of conversion and performed the miracle of restoring eyesight. He called Christ the "true light." Despite the persecution of Christians, he was zealous for his work and therefore died a martyr's death.
