Abstract

The sculpture of St. Adalbert was created in the 19th century. In 1907, it was re-placed on a balustrade of the music choir. Perhaps, together with the statue of St. Stanislaus which constitutes a pair, originates from the currently non-existent altar. Saint Adalbert was a bishop, he went to Prussia with the mission of converting pagans to Christianity, where he died a martyr's death. As he sailed there by boat across the Vistula river, an oar became his attribute.
