The sculpture was created in the second half of the 18th century. Unfortunately, archival sources do not provide any information about the author of the work. The opposite side of the altar features a sculpture of Saint Stanislaus who is usually paired with Saint Adalbert in altar decorations. Saint Adalbert lived in 956-997. He was a bishop of Prague from 983. In 997, he set off to Poland and then to Prussia in order to convert pagans. He suffered a martyr's death, probably pierced with spears.
