Abstract

The sculpture of Saint Paul, along with the entire high altar, was made by Wojciech Maciejowski in 1948 in Cracow. The artist died probably in the late forties of the 20th century so the high altar in Wola Batorska and its decoration are among his last works. The sculpture in question depicts Saint Paul. It represents a traditional iconographic type depicting saint apostle with a book and a sword in his hands. A sculpture of St. Peter, located on the other side of the altar, was made in the same sculpture workshop.
