Unfortunately, the sculpture's attribution is unknown. According to the iconographic tradition, the angels are dressed in belted tunics and present young men with masculine facial features. They are barefoot to symbolize their readiness to fulfill God's commands, or are wearing Roman-style sandals. They have wings indicating the speed of moving from place to place. A mission of the messengers is best reflected also by Polish translation of the Greek word "aggelos", namely the "representative".
