The sculpture was made around 1859 in a provincial workshop, as evidenced by treated in total garments' draperies and anatomical details. The saint Paul is portrayed in a traditional iconographic way, i.e. with such attributes as: the sword with which he was beheaded and the book symbolising his participation in the apostolic mission.
