A painting depicting Pietà was created together with architectural and sculptural furnishings of the church after 1765. It was created for the finial of the side altar, most likely by Piotr Kornecki. Pietà is a representational type in which Mary is holding the dead body of her Son on her lap. It illustrates the sacrifice and suffering of Mary herself, who, by her acceptance of the incarnation, had already passed a death sentence on her Son.
