In 1884, the painting "Delivery of the Keys to St. Peter" by Ferdynand Olesiński was placed in a decorative frame, on the ceiling of the nave. The work was modelled on a cardboard painted by Raphael Sanzio in 1515 at the request of Pope Leo X, which was used to create tapestry for the Sistine Chapel. The painting, according to biblical texts, illustrates the scene when Church authority (the keys are its symbol) and pastoral one ("Feed my sheep!") are given to St. Peter by Christ.
