Abstract

The painting of Madonna of Częstochowa was created in 1850, probably in the workshop in Częstochowa. Since the paintings were anonymous, assigning the painting to a specific workshop is nearly impossible. The history of the painting is extraordinary, as it was brought to the Reformers' church from a local mine, taken from one of the shaft bottoms by the miners on September 12, 1869 due to the harmful impact of the mine environment.
